Heyy girls!

Today’s post is again simple and chic, similar to my previous polka dot post, however this time the pattern is emulating the polka dot pattern on one of spring/summer dress.

Equipment:

Base and top coat.

White ten and black nail polish.

dotting tools (varied sizes).

Instructions:

paint base-coat (prevents staining on your natural nails.

all nails painted two coats of white nail polish ( 2 coats should give full coverage).

Neatly painted dots created with black nail polish by the dotting tool.

Finish off with a top coat (prevent any chipping).

Red and white Polka dot designs.

Red and white polka dot design.

I decided to start my blog with a simple yet effective design, that puts a summer feeling in the atmosphere. I chose the colours red and white because they stand out against each other but look good together.
Equipment: 

1. Clear base coat and top coat.
2. Bright red nail polish
3. white nail polish
4. Dotting tools. 

How I created this design:

1. Make sure my nails are thoroughly cleansed and free from polish, top tip: I always put oil on my cuticles so that my nails don’t dry out, as this could result in the nail peeling. Then I paint a base coat to prevent staining from the colour of the polish.
2. Paint two coats of red nail polish then leave to dry.
3. Take a dotting tool and dip in the white nail polish and carefully paint dots repeatedly on each nail.

However for the fourth finger nail I decided to still use the white but create a flower design, this creates a summery impression.

The 3x3 (3 Colours 3 Designs)

This nail post is an unusual one for me, because it features 3 different designs, but that's all part of my mini challenge that I created: for which the task was to create 3 designs with 3 colours (but the 3 colours must remain the same for all of the designs).
 

Here's...

 Number one!

'The Hourglass'.

2 coats of blue for base, followed by 1 coat of green in a hourglass shape (similar to paint 2 opposite triangles touching), finish with white outline of shape and then clear topcoat.

Here is design number two...
'The stripes'.

2 coats of blue  berry polish on the thumb, middle and baby nails and green polish on the rest of the nails. Leave to dry, then use white polish and paint 4 lines each going down vertically to give the look of stripes, then finish up with a shiny topcoat.



And finally....


 
Number three!
'The spots'

Similar principle to the one above, but this time I painted my thumb, middle and baby finger nails in green polish and the rest in blue. Once dried use the same white polish and paint small dots randomly on each nail.
Then finish up with a topcoat for shine and prevent chipping. X

Well I hope this post was a fresh and inspirational one. The part where it became a challenge was when I didn't use no tools to help me make the designs neater, ( as you can probably tell they're not perfect) but still nice. The inspiration to make it a mini challenge came about because I couldn't actually find any of my tools and had to make do with what I had. I guess this post can also show you that you don't necessarily need all the exact tools to create designs.

 





The Key is in the Design

Here is another design to catch a sparkle in your eyes, here I present the two tone blend that has appeared to be an spring/summer trend.


Equipment:

Top coat/ base coat.

Green glitter polish.

Light blue polish.

Light green polish.

Nail art brush.

How to create this design?:

• Firstly, paint your base coat and leave to dry.
• Secondly, paint your nails with either blue or green and leave to dry.
• Thirdly, with using the nail colour who haven't yet used, paint only half of the nail, so that you can see the blend of both colours.
• Fourthly to help contrast the two colours, take a small nail art brush, dip it in green glitter polish and draw a thin line between the two colours.
• Finally paint your topcoat for longer lasting and shine.

Simple instructions for a simple design. The inspiration for the colours came from the beautiful ring featured in the photos. I hope you like it, and motivates you to choose a piece of jewellery and become inspired to create your own jewelled nails. x

Barry M Gelly collection!

I am head over heels in love with the Gelly Nail polish by Barry M (they never seize to disappoint). They are super shiny and glossy with no need for top coat, each colour gives  it's own unique  shine to your eye.

Lychee!

 I adore this nude colour because it compliments my skin tone really well creating a natural and sophisticated look. It is a colour that is always in trend for all seasons.

 

Pomegranate!

This is a beautiful shade mixture of pink and red to envy, this Gelly colour shows its richness with just one coat and full coverage. 

Blue Berry!
Get berry for this colour is about to outshine even the brightest sky and deepest oceans. Gazing on this rich blue will send you in a dream.

Dragon Fruit! x

Oh girls, the title says it all. I absolutely adore this healthy shade of pink that I wish I could eat, its so cute and luscious!. This pretty pink brings the feeling of spring to my mind when my eyes look upon it.

Key Lime!
It isn't a colour I like but Love!, the colour represents all the green that grows in spring/summer. Its full of energy and freshness, and remember girls, the key is in the shine.
 

Green Berry!
A undeniable and irresistible shade for summer, this aqua colour will send on a wave of a life time. it shines brighter than your brightest blue seas.
 

Prickly Bear! x
This colour I too adore, a soft and sooth lilac/lavender shade, a colour that will blossom a shiny smile of happiness in all eyes that look and become enchanted.





Here a few notices I learnt on my purchase :

•  It SHINES!.. glamorously x  
• No need for a top coat! (but perhaps still have one at the ready to keep the nail polish longer)
• The lighter colours need a second or third coat for thickness. 

Unfortunately I haven't yet purchased all of the gellies but I soon will have the entire collection!, for which I will keep editing this post, adding more colours, more comments.

Roses are Red; Floral blossom!

This is my first design that celebrates a spring step forward, a sweet and floral look to blossom your day!.

Equipment needed:
Glitter top coat.
Pastel blue/ white nail polish ( this will be the base of your design.
Red nail polish ( for the look of roses)
Light green nail polish ( for the look of leaves and stems of the flowers).
Top/base coat.
Nail art brushes ( to help control the painting).

Here is a list of instructions that will hopefully 

be helpful for you when. Relating this design.

• Firstly make sure your nails are clean and fresh, with no previous nail polish. 
• Then paint your a clear base coat, that will protect your nails from staining.
• Secondly when the clear coat is dry, paint a coat of your blue/white nail polish, this can be either colour or both I just used both to create the look of the sky. 
• Thirdly if needed paint a double, otherwise use a nail art brush or dotting tool and dip it in red nail polish to create your floral design, I attempted to paint the look of roses with circular shapes using different sized dotting tools. 
• Once you've finished with painting roses or your chosen flower design, using a thin nail art brush dip it in a light green nail polish to draw the stem and leaves. 
• Once the design is dry, paint a coat of glitter to add a sparkle, I used a shiny coat to give the effect of ice.

Well, I have wrote all you need to know about creating this spring theme design, that will brighten up your morning, so despite the horrible weather we may face now: our nail design will be makes us smile with nature.

Sparkle to the New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

To mark the occasions of 2014 I have created a design fit enough to shine your nails into the new year.

List of Equipment:

• Black Nail polish (Barry M)
• Multi Black Glitter (Barry M)
• Silver Glitter (Barry M)
• White Nail Art Pen (Models own)

Instructions:

• Firstly, as always I started off painting a base coat to protect my nails from staining.
• Secondly I painted a single coat of black nail polish and left to dry thoroughly.
• Thirdly I painted double coat of black glitter for the element of sparkle.
• Fourthly painted the bottom of my nails with silver glitter for extra shine.
• Then for the index and little finger I used the white nail art pen to paint stars,
• 2014 was written on the thumb,
• I decided to design a clock on the fourth finger to represent the stroke of midnight.
• Finally the middle finger is more traditional with the message of 'new year'
